DAF Trucks has delivered two fully electric trucks to Contargo in Germany. Contargo is a 100% subsidiary of the leading international Rhenus Group. The DAFs CF Electric featuring E-Power Technology from VDL are used for container transport around hinterland terminals in the German Lower Rhine area. The two trucks delivered to Contargo are the first DAFs CF Electric that are put into operation in Germany, and the 6th and 7th to take part in an extensive field test.
PACCAR Inc announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Preston Feight as chief executive officer (CEO) effective July 1, 2019. Mr. Feight was also elected as a member of the Board of Directors, effective on the same date. Preston Feight is currently executive vice president of PACCAR and succeeds Ron Armstrong who has served as the company's chief executive officer since April 2014. Ron Armstrong will retire from the company and the Board on June 30, 2019. Mark Pigott remains as executive chairman and will continue to provide strategic counsel to the company.
DAF is to invest EUR 200 million in its cab plant in Westerlo, Belgium in order to be prepared for future production volumes as DAF further expands its success worldwide. DAF made the announcement today during a visit by Philippe Muyters, the Flemish Minister for Work, Economics, Innovation.
