Senior Material Handling Manufacturing Engineer

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the day to day management of the Material Handling operation
  • Supervise, guide and coach Material Handling Supervisors, Key Operators and teams
  • Develop people and processes within the framework our Production System 
  • Drive improvements to the departmental Health & Safety performance through the management and development of the current Risk Assessment Process in order to create a safer working environment 
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to the current material on-time delivery performance
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities and implement solutions with a strong focus on efficiency levels
  • Monitor and improve track stoppage performance related to Material supply to line
  • Support other company led projects outside of the department when required (e.g. New model introductions) 
  • Manage disciplinary & capability issues where required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Highly motivated and capable of achieving excellent standards of performance in a high pressure environment
  • Highly computer literate and able to demonstrate excellent data analysis skills (Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel / Minitab)
  • Strong problem-solving skills eg knowledge and use of six sigma
  • Good knowledge of WMS (Oracle or Other)
  • Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Final salary pension, private outpatients scheme and 25 days holiday plus statutory entitlement.
