Data Scientist and Analyst

Be part of the development of the next generation of commercial vehicles developing the structures to meet future requirements including the transition to electric powertrains.
Work within a world-class Product Development team, responsible for new product design and validation at the UK’s market-leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.
Leyland Trucks is the centre of medium duty truck expertise within the global PACCAR corporation, and a team of approximately 120 engineers are responsible for the LF vehicle model.
The role
- Develop analytics tools in conjunction with the engineering teams
- Liaise with Leyland IT and DAF on ‘Big Data’ analyses
- Champion the use of computational analytics tools to identify and predict issues and improvements
- Present proposed strategic direction to management for discussion
- Coaching members of PD in use of various analytics tools
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Data Science/Analytics desirable
- Previous experience of using Qlik/Splash / Tableau and / or equivalents
- Tenacious with strong organisational and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage and present highly complex information to people at various levels
- Excellent project planning skills.
- Commitment to personal development in emerging analysis methods
- Self-motivated with drive and initiative.

Salary
Circa £35k per annum
