ePowertrain Project Engineer

The role is within the Product Development Organization.

Leyland is the centre of light/medium duty truck expertise for PACCAR, and a team of approximately 100 engineers are responsible for the design of the LF range.

The role

  • To provide liaison between Leyland Product Development and the nominated suppliers of Heavy Duty and Medium Duty ePowertrains.

  • To support project management activities including writing technical requirements specifications, maintaining Design Verification Plan and Reports, and leading Design FMEA’s.

  • Tracking, reporting and providing technical challenge to ePowertrain suppliers during the design and development process.

  • Release of 2D drawings and 3D models into the Leyland CAD system.

  • Represent Leyland Trucks in PACCAR global electrification team activities.

  • To provide technical advice on ePowertrain technology as required across the organisation.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification / experience.

  • Demonstrable experience of automotive electric powertrain development is essential.

  • Electric motor / inverter application knowledge is desirable.

  • Practical proven experience of automotive project management tools such as DVP&R and D-FMEA.

  • Proficiency in PTC Creo CAD package.

  • Committed team player able to demonstrate project realisation from concept through design and into successful production.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.

 

Salary

Approx £40-45K per annum
