Senior Engineer Vehicle Simulation

The role is within the Product Development Organization.

Leyland is the centre of light/medium duty truck expertise for PACCAR, and a team of approximately 100 engineers are responsible for the design of the LF range.

The role

  • Responsibility for development and application of Simulink-based energy consumption model for Leyland-engineered products

  • Develop models of sub-systems and integrate supplier component models into vehicle model

  • Validation and verification of simulation results against requirements and test data

  • Develop methods for analysis and characterisation of telematic data

  • Provide insights into effects of component selection on vehicle efficiency

  • Suggest alternatives and recommend new approaches or tools to support continuous process improvement in vehicle modelling and simulation

  • Represent Leyland on PACCAR global simulation team

 
Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable understanding of fundamental engineering principles, especially as affects vehicle energy consumption

  • Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent qualification / experience is necessary

  • Experience in modelling using Matlab / Simulink software is desirable

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a global team environment

  • Strong confident planning, organisation and communication skills at all levels

  • Proven engagement with Six Sigma tools

  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative

 

Salary

Approx £35-40K per annum
