Helping Hands build stronger Communities
Leyland Trucks Helping Hand
Who we are Helping
Helping Hand is a Charity run by employees of Leyland Trucks with the mission to support the local community in which we work and live.
What we do
Helping Hand supports many types of good causes in a number of different ways. We raise awareness and provide volunteering support for local charities and events. We support families and individuals with specialist equipment and support when going through life changing events. We also fund raise to support fantastic charities, hospises and thilanthropic organisations working in our local community. Everything that Helping Hand raises is redistributed back into the community. Alongside our fund raising we also leverage support from an amazing network of sponsors that enable us to do what we do.
Mission Statement
To provide a process that enables Leyland Trucks and it’s employees, customers and suppliers to help the disadvantaged in the wider community, particularly where worthy causes are local to the plant, or are connected to our employees and their families

Support Helping Hand
Helping hand will hold regular collections for local causes. Think of winter coats for the less fortunate and toys for the Toy Bank. Do you have a good idea to organize a collection for a local cause as a colleague? Let us know!
Volunteer work
Volunteering yields much more than just doing good for someone else. You also learn something from it together with your colleagues. And that gives a good feeling at the end of the day. Interested in getting involved? Contact us by email to find out how.

The fundraising that our Charity and supporters do each year is outstanding but to then be able to see the smiles on families faces when we have helped them to buy that specialised item that will help their child achieve day to day tasks or the thanks and appreciation we receive when we have made a donation to another charity or school is heartwarming and reminds me why we dedicate our time to such a worthy cause.
Ben Holloway
Chair of Committee
After joining the Helping Hand committee some years ago, it’s been my privilege to take over as chair since 2024 and I’m very proud to work with such a great team of volunteers. What we achieve supporting charities, schools, families and individuals in our local community continually motivates me.

I have been a member of the Helping Hands committee since 2017. In this role, I have supported numerous fundraising events and serve as one of the charity’s social media advocates. Visiting several local charities firsthand has provided me with valuable insight into the positive impact our support has on the community. I am proud to be part of a dedicated team making a meaningful difference in people’s lives when they need it most.

I am delighted to serve on the Helping Hand Committee as a fundraiser. After losing a dear friend to cancer 11 years ago, this role has given me a meaningful way to respond positively. The people at Leyland Trucks are very special, this is expressed by the way they support Helping Hand.

Being part of a team that genuinely cares about making a difference is so fulfilling, whether it’s helping an individual or family going through a tough time, supporting local charities and schools or simply spreading kindness. It’s not just about the work we do it’s about the people we do it for and the passion we share as a team.

Having volunteered to help with a few projects since starting with the company 5 years ago, I was delighted to be given an opportunity to join the Helping Hand Committee. A fantastic, motivated team with the soul purpose of raising much needed funds for the organisations & people who need it the most.

Being part of the Helping Hands committee for over 20 years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Watching the charity grow with the support of employees at Leyland Trucks and Paccar Parts has been truly inspiring. Thanks to the team’s dedication, we’ve raised significant funds year after year, making a real difference for local charities, families, and individuals.

I have been part of the Helping Hand Charity for several years and fundraising for local charities for 10 years. I get to work with an amazing team who promote events through the year. My Guild Wheel Walk event encourages our community to get out and walk 21 miles supporting our local charities. I focus on Mental Health, personal wellbeing and the walk gives everyone chance to meet new people, and chat along the way. Its a privilege to support our local charities that need our support, both in work and out of work.

I joined Helping Hands only a few weeks ago. Even though I’m still finding my way, I already feel really grateful to be part of this group. I’m slowly learning about all the ways we support the community, and it’s inspiring to see how much everyone cares. I’m excited to get more involved, meet more people, and hopefully make a positive difference alongside the team.

I’ve been on the Helping Hand committee since 2023, handling admin and liaising with charities, organisations, individuals, and local families. I’m passionate about making a real difference by organising donations, visits, and events to support those in need. It’s a privilege to help bring positive change to our local community and make a meaningful impact. Being part of this has shown me just how much of a difference we can truly make.
