Leyland has an active Mentoring scheme, giving employees the opportunity to learn from colleagues across the business, build new skills and gain support as they progress in their career.

Customer Visits

Each year, we welcome over 2,000 customers to site. As your career progresses, you may choose to get involved as a tour guide or presenter. Speak to your manager to learn more.

Wellbeing and Support

Aviva Private Medical Scheme

At your induction, you’ll be given full details on our Aviva Private Medical Scheme which offers members optical and dental support, out-patient treatments including physio and chiropody, access to a digital GP & Employee Support Helpline and cover for a range of in-patient treatments.

Mental Health Support

Your wellbeing matters to us. We have almost 40 trained mental health first aiders onsite, along with a confidential Stress Counselling Line run by Aviva and support available from Lancashire Mind on a range of topics. Our Occupational Health team are also on-hand to offer support and signpost.

Wellbeing Calendar

Our Occupational Health team hosts regular health and wellbeing roadshows onsite — from cholesterol checks and smoking cessation advice to signposting specialist health services. A full Wellbeing Calendar is available on Leyland Web and the DAF App once you start.

Community and Social Impact

Helping Hand Charity

Our employee run Helping Hand Charity has raised over £1 million for local causes and community projects. You can read more on the Helping Hand website – including how to get involved in our summer Linking Leyland events…from pulling trucks to cycle rides – there’s plenty of activities to choose from.

CSR & Volunteering

We’re passionate about supporting local groups and initiatives that matter to our people, with funding proposals submitted by employees and reviewed quarterly. We also enable employees to give back personally by offering two fully paid volunteering days each year for a charity or cause of their choice.

Armed Forces Support

As Silver Award holders in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme, we’re committed to supporting ex forces personnel. Our active Military Network meets throughout the year, and we have three Armed Forces Champions available for advice and support.
